5 Best Truck Stops in America

Truckers and road trippers, this post is for you! We have scoured the internet to try and find the most notable and famous truck stops in America. Whether you’re just looking to grab a but to eat to take a shower to wash off the day, here are five of the best truck stops in the U.S. that can provide the essentials…and a whole lot more!

#1: Iowa 80 Truck Stop

Location – Walcott, Iowa: The Iowa 80 is known as the world’s largest truck stop. The parking lot boasts enough spaces for 900 tractor-trailers, 250 cars and 20 buses. We don’t think you’ll have a hard time finding a spot to park here! What is at this truck stop? Stop in to take a shower, see a movie at the theater and even pay a visit to the dentist. 

*Bonus – if you have a furry friend with you, you can give them a bath at the Dogomat Pet Wash!

#2: Davis Travel Centers

Location – Various locations in Virginia: Davis Travel Centers are a Virginia visitor’s dream. These three truck stop locations all come equipped with free Wi-Fi throughout. This truck stop also tailors services to professional drivers to refresh and re-energize them to get back on the road. Amenities include CAT scales, TripPak services and spacious services. 

*Bonus – these stops have a loyalty rewards program called AMBUCKS that allow you to earn discounts on food at merchandise at the shops!

#3: Little America

Location – Little America, Wyoming: This truck stop is located off of I-80 in Wyoming, just a few hours from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. It includes luxurious hotel accommodations, 16 fueling islands, a restaurant and parking spaces galore. 

*Bonus – stop by the Travel Center Grill for a $0.50 ice cream cone!

#4: Alamo Plaza

Location – Various locations in Nevada: Not only does this stop host all the basic travel center amenities but it also has a casino (jackpot, literally)! Take a well-deserved break and even win some money on the state-of-the-art slot machines. Some locations even have a fitness room so the health conscious folks can get in some cardio or weight lifting. 

*Bonus – at the Sparks location, stop into the on-site barber shop to get a clean shave and haircut!

#5: SAPP Brothers

Location – Various across the US: SAPP Brothers truck stops span from Utah to Pennsylvania to provide truckers with a suitable place to rest. Many truck stop locations include a movie theater, medical facilities and laundry rooms. Some locations even include bathtubs and saunas for a truly relaxing pit stop. 

*Bonus – plan a party and tell everyone to meet you at the Columbus, NE location. They have a banquet hall for rental!
