Verizon Connect emerges as telematics leader, tops 6 categories

Top spot in route planning with a satisfaction score of 95.

 Market leader in usability, which includes ease of admin with an overall score of 9.15

It’s official. Verizon Connect is making a positive change in the lives of telematics users. The fleet management software provider ranked #1 in six categories on G2 Crowd’s Fall 2019 report. This marks the third consecutive quarter G2 Crowd users have named Verizon Connect as the leader in fleet management, but the first time the company has received top honors in six categories.

With 3.5 million monthly views and 680,000 overall reviews, G2 Crowd is a peer-to-peer software review platform for decision makers in the business technology and SaaS (Software as a service) world. With its global presence, G2 Crowd attracts readers and reviewers from small businesses, mid-market organizations and large enterprises.

Verizon Connect has emerged as the telematics leader in six categories: Transportation Management, Fleet Management, Route Planning, Implementation Index for Route Planning, Relationship Index for Route Planning and Usability Index for Route Planning.

“Rankings on G2 reports are based on data provided to us by real users,” said Michael Fauscette, Chief Research Officer, G2. “We are thrilled to share the achievements of the products ranked on our site because they represent the voice of the user and offer valuable insights to potential buyers everywhere.”

These six categories on G2 Crowd truly represent the decision-making factors of telematics users. The questions a user answers while submitting a review represent what’s important to them in assessing a telematics solution for their organization.

The Fall Report 2019 has user participation from industries including construction, transportation/trucking and railroad. Here are the six categories in which Verizon Connect has been named a leader:

Transportation Management

As defined by G2 Crowd, transportation management software includes fleet management software among its software modules. Software products ranked in this category, and all other categories, received a minimum of 10 reviews/ratings in data gathered by September 04, 2019. These products were ranked by both customer satisfaction based on user reviews, and market presence based on market share, vendor size and social impact. To be designated as a leader in this category, products must have been rated highly by G2 users and also have substantial Market Presence scores. 

Verizon Connect Fleet Tracking & Management landed in the top leader spot with 123 reviews, a Satisfaction score of 90, a Market Presence score of 96, and an overall G2 Crowd score of 93.

Fleet Management

As defined by G2 Crowd, fleet management software helps fleet managers operate efficient car or truck deliveries on improved routes and with reduced idle time. These solutions consider critical information such as time windows and available drivers to create routes that enable employees to travel to more destinations while remaining on schedule.

To qualify for inclusion in the Fleet Management category, a product must:

  • Create improved driving routes
  • Allow for in-app communication and updates
  • Track employee progress and overall performance

Verizon Connect Fleet Tracking & Management secured the top leader spot in this category with 215 reviews, a Satisfaction score of 90, a Market Presence score of 99, and an overall G2 Crowd score of 94.

Route Planning

As defined by G2 Crowd, route planning software manages vehicle routes and schedules to increase driver performance and improve distribution operations. This type of software is used to define, manage and improve delivery routes for multiple geographical regions and transportation types. 

To qualify for inclusion in the Route Planning category, a product must:

  • Provide standard delivery schedules that can be customized by users
  • Estimate distances and the time needed for different types of deliveries
  • Enhance routes using GIS information and historical delivery data
  • Account for constraints that may impact shipments
  • Allow users to adjust routes and schedules when needed
  • Include collaboration features for drivers and dispatchers
  • Track the performance of deliveries and identify bottlenecks

Verizon Connect Fleet Tracking & Management earned the top—and only—leader spot with 109 reviews, a Satisfaction score of 95, a Market Presence score of 97, and an overall G2 Crowd score of 96.

Implementation Index for Route Planning

Implementation scores for route planning consider several factors, including ease of setup, implementation time and user adoption.

Of the six products in this category, Verizon Connect Fleet Tracking & Management took the #1 spot with an overall score of 9.09 (2.7 for ease of setup, 2.74 for implementation time, 1.29 for user adoption and 2.36 for other factors).

Relationship Index for Route Planning

Relationship scores for route planning consider several factors, including ease of business, the likelihood to recommend to others, and the quality of support.

Of the six products in this category, Verizon Connect Fleet Tracking & Management ranked on top with an overall score of 8.82 (3.05 for ease of business, 1.29 for likely to recommend, 2.98 for quality of support, and 1.5 for other factors).

Usability Index for Route Planning

Usability scores for route planning consider several factors, including ease of admin, ease of use and meeting quite a few requirements.
