What changes will the ELD mandate bring?

Primarily, the ELD mandate will mean an end to paper HOS logbooks. The electronic system of recording driving hours is intended to streamline compliance checks, eliminate forms and manner errors and simplify compliance requirements for drivers.

Fleets already using electronic devices to record hours of service are realizing other benefits including reduced fuel consumption, safer driving and an end to unauthorized use (or out-of-route miles).
