Reattach cameras to windshields
If a camera is not attached to the windshield, correctly during installation, the camera can become unstuck. The camera is no longer able to capture videos of harsh driving events. You must reattach the camera to continue receiving videos.
Before you begin
You’ll need the following:
- 3M VHB adhesive pads
- Alcohol wipes
Note: The windshield glass temperature should not be too hot or cold. Please install the camera in moderate temperature (recommended between 50°F–80°F).
- Clean the area on the windshield where the camera will be placed using the alcohol wipes that came with your camera.
\ Make sure you remove any residue from the original adhesive pad and that the area is completely dry before you continue. \ \ You can find more information about camera placement You can find more information about camera placement in our Choose camera placement article.
Remove the 3M adhesive pad attached to the camera bracket and clean the bracket with an alcohol wipe.
Attach a new 3M adhesive pad to the camera bracket and press firmly.
Peel off the protective strip from the adhesive pad.
Stick the camera to the windshield.
Important: You must hold the camera in position with firm pressure for no less than 30 seconds. Failure to do this will result in a poor bond between the camera and the windshield.
