Jurassic Processes Were Not Part of the Deal

SEQ Building and Pest Inspections was established in early 2015 by Grant and Janine Lazzaro. The company works closely with real estate agents providing building inspections, pool safety fence inspections, and pest management systems. This was to be the dream business for the couple; however, things were certainly not shaping up to be fairy-tale the couple had planned.

Dream may not have been the word Janine would have used earlier this year when she was writing out the same information for the sixth time late in the evening. “It was all very Jurassic,” stated Janine. “Our jobs were booked using a calendar and information stored in a log book and on job sheets, and then entered into MYOB. I found I was writing and transferring the same information five or six times, it was excruciating.

Having paper systems makes it difficult to track jobs, invoices and payments. “Things were lost with our paper system and jobs would sometimes fall off the desk and end up underneath the filing cabinet,” said Janine. “Sometimes jobs would be completed but then wouldn’t be invoiced and this impacted our cash flow.

For Janine and Grant just losing a few job sheets could cost the business anywhere between $600 and $900 in a month. It was with that Janine began her search and came across Work.
